FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much will it cost?

We are affordable! Please contact us for a quote on the service you are interested in.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely. We offer payment plans for most of our services so that you may pay in affordable installments. The plans are generally not based on your credit worthiness unless the need arises.

  • What types of payment do you accept?

We accept ACH electronic checks and all major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover). We offer installment and payment plans to fit your needs.

  • Do you offer Free Consultations?

No. Each case is subject to a careful and personalized review and analysis by an attorney. Consequently, not all attorneys offer free consultations due to the time and energy spent reviewing a case and preparing for the consultation.

  • What are the benefits of hiring a solo practitioner rather than a multi-attorney law firm?

My clients receive a more personal one-on-one experience, with attentive service and promptly returned messages and phone calls. Unlike a multi-attorney firm, you get the same attorney familiar with your case from start to finish.

As a solo practitioner and business owner, I am wholly invested in my work and my clients. I am constantly evaluating every aspect of my business to ensure that I am providing exceptional customer service and quality legal services. I believe that amounts to a pleasant and overall better experience for both client and attorney.

  • What is a Virtual Law Office?

A VLO is a way for me to provide remote immigration assistance to a client residing far away or any client who likes the convenience of online/remote meetings. Learn about this cool service here.

  • What is the Online Client Portal?

All full representation clients receive access to their own private and secure Client Communication Portal, where they can upload and exchange documents with their attorney, pay invoices, and send their attorney confidential messages. This all-in-one portal is available 24/7! Learn more about it here.

  • What are your COVID-19 business protocols?

We follow CDC and state guidelines with regards to protecting our clients and staff. Masks are mandatory for all staff and clients visiting our office, regardless of vaccination status.

We sanitize surfaces between meetings, operate a HEPA air purifier, and hand sanitizer is readily available. From time to time, only remote meetings may be offered and in-person services may be limited. The wellbeing of our staff and the families we serve is paramount.

  • I am a foreign national residing outside the USA. Are you able to assist me?

Yes! I am a licensed attorney and may assist anyone with matters concerning U.S. immigration laws. I absolutely can assist foreign nationals who are currently overseas and interested in immigrating to the USA.

In fact, our virtual law office was designed to handle immigration cases remotely! We will prepare and file your immigration paperwork for you. We can hold remote meetings via Zoom. You have the option of a video conference or a non-video Zoom call. The only thing we cannot do is personally accompany you to your U.S. Consular interview; however, we can fully prepare you for it.

  • I do not want to spend $$ on long distance calls to your office. How can we call each other for free?

Not a problem. Zoom remote meetings do not incur long distance phone charges. You just need an internet connection, microphone, and Zoom software, which you can download for free. You have the option of a video or non-video Zoom call if you are camera-shy.

Exchanging documents with your attorney anywhere in the world is also a breeze, because all our clients receive their own Online Client Portal. There, you can upload and review documents with your attorney, pay invoices, and send confidential messages. You can read more about it here.

  • I live in a different state (or I live far). Are you still able to assist me?

Absolutely! Learn about our remote Virtual Law Office capabilities here.

Due to the nature of immigration law (i.e., because it is federal law, i.e., 8 C.F.R. §§ 1.2, 292.1(a)1), an immigration attorney licensed to practice law in any state can help immigration clients in any of the 50 states, District of Columbia, and all United States territories. For example, although I am an attorney licensed in Washington D.C. and Hawai’i, I am authorized by federal law to practice immigration law not only in HI and D.C., but also California, Illinois, etc. That is the great thing about practicing immigration law. An immigration attorney like me may provide immigration assistance and represent a client before an immigration court in any state, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).

That means it is not necessary that you hire an immigration attorney from your own state bar to assist you with your immigration case. You may hire any licensed U.S. immigration attorney of your choice.

Now if you are more comfortable with in-person meetings, then you should probably consider hiring an attorney in your same locality. Remember, however, that my office IS capable of face-to-face meetings too, but they are generally held online via Zoom if you are far from one of my offices. We also offer meetings over the phone, and can securely and conveniently exchange and review documents online through your dedicated Client Portal. Of course, there is also traditional mail.
