My Commitment

Friendly service: A no-pressure, non-intimidating, professional and respectful experience.

I like to call it down-to-earth personalized immigration service, powered by Aloha.

I am sensitive to cultural traditions and the needs of each and every client. To me, culture is something to be celebrated and valued, not treated as problematic. Read more about my own immigrant background in my bio below.

A Reliable attorney: Accessible and responsive service you can count on. Dependable client-lawyer communication and your very own client portal open 24/7. There is no limit to the amount of messages and questions you can ask your attorney about your case. Read about the benefits of hiring a solo practitioner here.

Efficient representation: Efficient with time, money, and resources, utilizing modern technology and flexible means of communication to fit every budget.

How we do this: Our office offers affordable payment plans, remote immigration assistance, flexible meeting times outside a law firm’s normal business hours, and limited scope representation (a.k.a. “unbundled legal services”) for the do-it-yourself client who is looking for legal assistance only in some areas.

We maximize all resources to provide convenient and cost-effective legal services: Each client receives a secure client portal for convenient exchange of legal documents and messages with our office. As an alternative to in-person meetings, we offer clients situated anywhere in the world the ability to meet remotely with your attorney through Zoom meetings and phone calls.

I am committed to delivering the FINEST STANDARDS of attentive legal service to each and every one of my clients – service that is in harmony with my own moral values. It is the type of service you deserve. From one immigrant, to another.

Hello there.

My story begins with my birth in Manila, Philippines. It was my late grandfather’s faithful service in the United States Navy and subsequent naturalization, that provided the window of opportunity for his children (and eventually grandchildren) to immigrate to the U.S. in pursuit of the American dream. As his granddaughter, I am forever grateful to him because I know for certain my life would have been so different had we not immigrated. Through grandpa’s sacrifices, I was able to take full advantage of educational opportunities to attend college and law school in the United States. This is why I understand how the immigration choices of one individual can positively and bountifully affect the generations of a family.

A Family of Immigrants

Adjusting to life in the United States, my parents proved excellent role models. Young college professors, they had left their lives behind in the Philippines in search of better work opportunities and a better life for their family in the United States. Though they were well educated, I watched them work double jobs and even odd jobs to make it here. My parents taught me that a solid work ethic and the pursuit of higher education go hand-in-hand. They made sure I never forgot who I was, where we came from, and how grateful we were to be here.

That is why the motto of my law office is “From one immigrant, to another.” This is service delivered by a fellow immigrant — someone who has been there and done that. I too was raised in a home with dual languages (I understand Tagalog). I too understand the immigrant’s way of life in the U.S., and it is truly my sincere goal to provide you and your family the type of warm and superior service that I would want to receive as a future immigrant or international visitor coming to the United States.

Cultural Sensitivity

As an undergrad at UCLA (Go Bruins!), my major was cultural and linguistic anthropology. From an early age, I naturally enjoyed studying about various cultural traditions, and I have always appreciated and valued diverse cultures. I love immigration work because I get to interact with clients and families of different backgrounds; that is truly the highlight of my every day. I will always treat you and your family with professionalism, compassion, and respect.

As Your Attorney

Now that you know a little more about me, let me tell you about what you get when you hire me as your attorney.

First of all, you are a person to me, with real hopes, objectives and family members — not just another visa number or name on a piece of paper. I realize you have monetary constraints and most people do not immigrate or come to the United States with a sack filled with money. I sure didn’t. I admire your sacrifices being apart from your family and the life you may have had to leave behind in your native country.

My approach to delivering legal services is actually pretty simple: Once you identify your goal, my aim is to get you from A to B. You tell me “A” (your situation now) and “B” (where you want to be in the future), and I will show you all the legal options you have to get there.

Immigration and Nationality Law is a federal practice. Consequently, as a licensed attorney, our office is authorized by federal law to serve clients in any of the states, District of Columbia, commonwealths, territories, or possessions of the United States, including at U.S. Embassies worldwide. That means wherever you are in the world, I can help you with immigration.

Even if you choose not to hire me, you should still seek the assistance of an immigration attorney to ensure you are properly protecting your family’s dreams. Remember that the wrong help can hurt. (Read this USCIS article about common immigration scams) While some immigration forms seem simple enough to do on your own, some non-obvious mistakes can really delay the processing of your application, not to mention make it more costly. A knowledgeable immigration attorney will ensure that you have the correct and most persuasive supporting documentation to increase your chances of approval by USCIS or the U.S. Department of State.

Make sure you also choose the right attorney. It makes me so sad when I hear stories about people who decided not to hire a lawyer simply because they feared it would be an intimidating and uncomfortable experience. If you fear that type of experience, you have come to the right place. First of all, I am not intimidating. Yes, I am an attorney now, but I really never lost that part of me that remembers what it feels like to be an immigrant navigating life in the United States. Honestly, I still live that life every day. To put it simply, I am really still just me, practicing law, and if you are looking for down-to-earth, zealous representation, we are a perfect fit! Contact me today!
